The LIFE program offers three types of transportation assistance

Affordable Transportation Through the LIFE Program

The LIFE Program helps individuals in Los Angeles County access public transportation. The TAP Card can be used on many bus and rail systems throughout the county.

Eligible participants may receive 20 free regional rides each month on participating transit agencies. These rides may be reloaded after they are used, based on eligibility.

This support is designed to help with work, school, appointments, and other essential travel needs.

Transportation Support for Everyday Needs

This transportation option supports moderate travel needs using public transit less frequent.

Eligible participants may receive 4 free rides on participating transit agencies. After those rides are used, another set of 4 rides may be requested, based on eligibility.

This support helps make everyday errands and short trips easier and more accessible.

Emergency Transportation When It Matters Most

This transportation option is designed for urgent and essential needs when public transit is not possible.

Eligible participants may receive taxi rides valued up to $100 for important appointments, including medical visits, court-ordered appearances, job interviews, shelters, food banks, and government offices such as the DMV, Social Security, DPSS, or WIC.

Transportation support may also be used to help participants return home after attending an appointment at our office, ensuring a safe and reliable way back.
